Ok well I got the factory radio bezel out and OMG it was a pain in the arse! Luckily I found this thread on vortex:

To bad I can't save the cup holders but like others have said I don't think I want liquids that close to the screen hehe. Next up bondo! Walmart here I come.

Do the 2002 center console cup holder mod.

Its talked about in the MKIV DIY thread on vortex.

Its way better to have the cupholders down by the hand brake.

Yah I am gonna do that once I get some extra cash. I agree it is better to have the cup holders down there too.

Quick update: since I could not get the edges of the wood frame to be perfectly filled in with glue I decided to buy a replacement lilliput housing and use that in the project instead. Project on hold until that arrives.

PS: The rearview mirror comes off by twisting it clockwise not pulling. 211 dollars later I found this out but now I have a brandnew windshield hehehe

Okie still no damn lilliput housing (Digital Worldwide you guys suck!). Ok enough of that, I got really bored so I decided to begin hacking away on the bezel.

Well still no housing from digital ww damn jerks, but my bro is helping me make one out of metal and its looking really nice ill post pics tomorrow, anywhoooo. I pulled a few things outta the jetta to run my amp wire:



Now I have my lil amp hooked up so I dont need to use the headunit at all. I also have a epia pc the EPIA-PD and it seems to run everything ok. I am going to hide it in the boot where my cd-changer used to be.

Got bored tonight so I finally made use of the lilliput case:
