Thread: 05 Str8 Black XB

A fellow SE member! I'm in SE, originally from So-Cal, but now in Portland, OR.
Check out Dave Moulton's Toyxb... he is in the socal chapter. He is sponsored by Xenarc and has a pretty nice setup.

I would really think about getting a DC-DC power supply or somesort of shutdown controller, if you don't have one.

I would also think about a MB with integrated parts if you don't have a case of some sort.

Vairu, I flush mounted my screen. Its mounted i just have to get the time to paint the dash then i can install it and take pics. Its really easy to do and if you need help i can tell you what to do. I dont know how the inverter works or if it gets to hot because im not done with it yet, but im sure i will have to make some adjustments when i am done.

wow...that's gotta be the only XB in existence with leather seats. How much did that set you back?

Actually a lot of peeps have leather in their xB's. At some shows i've gone to i'd say maybe 15~20% have leather from factory, or Katzkin, or custom done. I think the kit from katzkin is around $700 but i'm not sure


and blackedout i can't wait for the pics, i need ideas on how to mount mine because i'm stuck at this point ... i guess i'll finish the case for the puter then worry about the screen

yeah there are a lot of xbs with leather. mine came from the factory and it cost me about $2,000. I got ripped off but oh well, i still like the leather a lot.

Vairu, the screen will be easy to mount. What size is your screen? Depending on the size you are going to have to do some cutting with a dremel. It will take a lot of time and patience but its not hard. If you need help you can hit me up on aim or pm me.

11/18/05 Today i hooked up my screen. I am powering it through my atx power supply. By monday i should have the screen mounted in its permanent location. I should also have pics of the install by monday. As of now everything works in the carpc i just need to buy a few more things to make this system fully functional. I need a usb hub, wireless mouse and keyboard, and a couple usb extension cables. I will also have to get a gps reciever thingy for the navigation.

yeah those are cool, i just do not now how i would mount those, but if i did i would definitely use them. Thanks for your help bones.
