ok so last night my brother calls me up and he tells me he has another mobo for me. It was a mini atx, not sure of the brand though. We get everything working in the house then we go to the car and i dont know wtf hppened but it would turn on then just turn off in like 5 seconds. So once again something is preventing me from finishing this project.

I also mounted my lilliput in my dash. Its just temporary because i have to repaint my dash piece. I have pics of the monitor when it is off.

I also have pics of where my soundcard and my wireless mouse and keyboard reciever thing goes. Later on i want to make like a plexiglass door over that spot. Im not sure what im going to do yet.

cool man, ^_^ do the rings around the A/C knobs pop out as one piece?

I'm going to try to glass my screen in after christmas

yeah they are just stickers, it sucks though because i think i lost mine. Oh well im gonna have to go to the dealer and try to get new ones. Its probably better to get new ones anyways because they arent very sticky after you take them off. Most of the sticky stuff will stay on the dash piece.

Oh yeah and by the way those pics do not do my dash piece justice. It needs to be repainted so badly.

My carpc i up and running now as of last night. I love it but ireally hate the fact that i cant hear my damn music because of the buzzing. Im gonna check all of my grounds and maybe buy a ground distributor thing. Im gonna sand the points where i put my grounds and then if that doesnt work then im gonna have to check my wiring. I will have pics soon. I just need to get some AA batteries so my camera will turn on. I am currently running roadrunner. Does anybody have or can someone make a scion skin for it. I finnaly got it in and im very happy with the results.

I haven't tried RR yet but i'm looking into it, if i get it up and running i'll make a skin ... i'm going to be out of the country for 2 weeks though from sunday so it won't be for awhile

oh thanks, i wanted to try making a skin but it looks complicating.

anyways i installed a ground loop isolator today. It runs from my external soundcard to my headunit. It got rid of a little bit of the buzz but the buzzing sound is most definitely still present. I also changed my ground for the inverter and i sanded the pint off before i grounded it. I just do not understand why this is happeneing? Oh and i hear people saying to ground the computer, what does tht mean? Oh well this is definitely ruining my install.

i heard that you have to ground your mobo to your PSU. I'm in the same situation as you because my mobo is mounted to a piece of 1/2" MDF and my Opus PSU is laying outside of the MDF (on the flooroard for now). I need to run a ground wire from any stand-off (the little gold things that go between a case and a motherboard) to the case of the PSU. Try it and see if it helps man. Supposively a computer will do strange unexplained things when not grounded like this and i have to admit that my computer has done some random *** things.

hey thanks for the help i will try that tommorow. How do i connect a wire to the stand-off? should i solder it on or what other way could i go about doing that? also what size wire should i use to do this? Thanks again.

Vairu when you do mold you screen you could use dura glass instead of bondo if you wanted to. My dad uses it for his boat and i would think it would be a bit stronger. Its also pretty easy to work with. Just a suggestion, i meant to say that a long time ago but i forgot.

Vairu thank you very much for that information. with my ground loop isolator and your idea i have absolutely zero buzzing noises. Thanks a lot. Now i have one more problem, what can i do to make my computer survive engine crank? Can u use the startup/shutdown controllers if you have an inverter. Thanks again.

I think you can, i've heard of it before. But i'm not sure if it's as easy as just buying an opus, example:

there might be a more "plug and play" controller for inverters but i'm not sure.
