It shouldn't be a bother with the AC on the bottom. Before I tore my dash apart I had the stock CD player down there and I was always using the CD player. If I could fit a CD down there, adjusting the AC controls isn’t a problem and I use the heater a lot with the top down.Originally Posted by Miles
My original plan was to use the 2001+ bezel with the double din on the bottom but I did some tests and I found out that it is to cumbersome to use the screen with my automatic shifter. When the car is in park the clearance is very small from the shifter and the screen and my knuckles would hit the touch screen constantly when I place the car in park. I’m guessing that might be a problem with a stick shift as well. This isn’t a problem with the 2 single din that came with my 2000 mustang cause the Bottom CD Din is a deeper set compared to the double din that is placed forward more towards the shifter. Also the position is too low for my liking. I wanted to have the screen be high enough to be visible when my top down. You can’t build a PC in your car without showing it off. All in all I prefer to have the AC on the bottom. They’re not that attractive anyway so might as well stick them in the bottom.
