Well i had 800 set aside for the PC but as my luck would have it after a trip home to Ohio, when we got back the tranny in my stang started acting up so the 800 is most likely going to a new tranny. But i did get some pics of the dash semi apart prepping it for when the works gonna start.

Should have an easy 5 inches to work with on Height here

At least 7 1/2 here for the width

Almost 9 inches between the sides for room to make the bezel clean

Close to 6 inches deep here "really has me thinking of what i could put back there

Im going to chop the cross piece that used to go between the A/C and radio im almost positive im going to use the top 2 for the screen and move the A/c controls to the bottom.

This is where i was thinking of putting the PC in there

Should be at least 10h 5w and 10d once i clean all that out in there.

ANY advice or comment would be greatly appreciated, as soon as i get this tranny in and i can safely get back and forth to work im all over this. I would really like to utilize the space that will be left behind the monitor as much as possible to save room in the console for the PC and cooling. I was thinking of the glovebox for a External HD for all the mass storage such as movies. Under the passenger seat for PS2 since i have an extra one, now i just need to find a place for a sloat load DVD/CD.

OK that silver "dusty Grey" thing in the bottom of Pic 4 is outta there now it was a factory amp so i have even a little more rom and also it had a 12 v feed and a switched feed so i was thinking i could get a smaller Power Supply and put in there maybe to feed a few things like the screen and some other things maybe a 4 port 12V USB 2.0 Hub. There has to be some more things i can put in there. I was also thinking of maybe seeing if i can find a small amp and trying to use it for the center channel that i want to put into the dash where the clock sits. Anyone have any ideas? i dont want to try and stuff the pc there cause if i build it anything like my desktop ill be in it almost daily

Hey guys.. same deal here, but I'm just starting out. Thinking of getting the 2001+ mustang radio bezel for the screen, and mounting the PC either behind it (along with using the glovebox) or in the armrest storage compartment.

Well than you are only like a month behind me! I just found this site a few months ago while looking for a head unit. Now im addicted like a crack addict. So far ive torn apart my dash and just today i cut the MDF to make the mold for the new dash bezel. gotta spray some foam to form the bezel then im going to get to the fiberglass sanding, bondo and finally painting

Ill post pics ASAP. Have either of you moved your a/c controls yet?

I'm hoping with the 2001+ bezel that I won't need to, as the larger opening is on the bottom. I'm hoping to avoid bondo/fabricating any pieces, but I might need to make a piece to sit in between the screen and bezel (almost like a mat on a framed picture between the frame and the picture...if that makes sense).

At least we have a mustang support group now, lol

ok i got some of it done and i am going to spray foam this today then im going to coat it with fiberglass and bondo then sand and paint.

this im trying to get working somehow and mold it into my armrest

I still need to make a piece to go under this to hold my a/c controls so ill work on that while the spra foam is drying today hopefully.

That's pretty slick!! Would be cool to see that in a center console.

With the bezel you're making, how will you give it the rounded shape, just sanded the wood or are you planning on building it up w/ some sort of material + sand?

I've been looking into using ABS and acetone to mold the bezel to the screen case, looks pretty straight forward

I got a can of spray foam and some fibreglass so im going to spay foam it first sand to shape the way i want then lastly coat it with the fiber and some bondo work then paint. My goal is to take the logitech part and make a new center console and form it in there, the only problem i having is im unsure of how i want to keep it from getting bumped on the armrest im thinking of maybe mounting it a little sub flush.
