ok... long post
screen is mounted ... pics to come tomorrow afternoon.... the epoxy putty works great ... the consistancy is like silly putty .... remove the same amount from part A and mix with part B .... with your hands! ..... then put it were ya want it ... so far so good i molded it with water on my hands ... worked great .... dried in a little over an hour ... i couldnt wait and mounted the bezel .... now i need to find some black interior paint to match the interior so if you guys know of the correct interior paint ... drop me the info...
also acquired a new toshiba laptop with broken display.. so im looking into that as the pc. researching the DC-DC setup and how to control startup and shutdown. more to come.......:)

I'm definately losing the modular setup at this point...
which means I'm losing the headunit! Which means I lose AUX in for iPods and Sirius! :eek:

Now I just need to find:
1.) Replacement cigarrete adapter to my lilliput for cheap
2.) Replacement 01-04 Bezel
3.) Replacement Lilliput bezel
and then I'll be good to go!

i taped the screen in position ... then applied the epoxy putty....

its very easy to work with ... just mix part A with part B equal amounts ... mold with water on your fingers..

now for a question.... while pulling the mach460 rear speakers and enclosure i found what looks like a line level converter for input... anybody have one of these.. clean install... almost looks factory?

now to remove the mach460 rear enclosure... you need to remove the amps on each side ... there is a nut under each amp.

remove the center 4 nuts and then the 1 under each amp. also disconnect the wiring harness to remove from the car. the harness pops out of the mounting tabs.. youll see what i mean..

next to test the amps and replace the speakers... if i can get by with the actory amps for a while i will... cash is always low around christmas.... :rock:

Man, I remember that mach system, that was a ***** and a half to take out!
Where did you get the replacement bezel? Cost alot? What do you search for?
Also, is there any pics of the buttons/switches on it, or better, do you know what type of switches they are?

one thing ... i did have to cut a little more from the original radio mount ... basically because i cut it at an angle i had to go back and cut it even ... this removed more material so the rear of the xenarc bezel would fit. i checked out the trac control switch ... ill post the pin layout later on.... basically its a normaly open momentary switch. contacts for lighting up the symbols.... trac control symbol etc.... and the on led is enabled by the computer it seems.

ok... project is slowing down for christmas ... and other projects...but i did pickup a few items for the project.... got a 2001 mustang center console to mod ... and i ordered a griffin powermate usb controller. hope to somehow mount the griffin in the console around/on one of the cupholders.....had to spend some funds on my 69 mustang twin turbo project muhhhaaaaahaaaaa... cant wait... yep its a DIY turbo with two garrett T3 turbos and a DSM intercooler for each.... EFI .. .and a megasquirt for engine management.....cant wait. also looking into working with picaxe to build a controller for the carpc.... so much to do so little time...

good news... it all works... when connected (-sirius on order)....but room for opportunity.... was going to install the carpc in the rear driverside panel in the trunk like squigglyrulz
did.. but i have a antitheft module in that locataion... so no go.... looking into a false trunk floor or square off one side of the trunk not sure. readin a lot of mp3car.com forums for ideas. also looking at mounting the dvd drive somewhere. sunvisor. make an oldschool overhead console?

looking at installing two polk momo MM2104 10" subs, polk momo MMC6500 6.5 components up front and infinity 5761a in 3 chan or a Alpine MRP-F450 in 2 chan and a Alpine MRP-M650 mono for subs. any input from you audio guys would be great. yes i am only going with front components and rear subs.

setting up roadrunner frontend with CFx skin.

the porpatch didnt turn out like i wanted... the consistancy was more like toothpaste.. and wanted to clump when you smoothed it out.. so i purchased some bondo bumper repair paste epoxy resin to clean things up and smooth it out a bit. then a few hours of sanding and i should be ready for paint i purchased from 5.0 resto.

I'm using your method for my dash as well (bought a mach1 dash) and I'm finishing up the fabrication part (lilli's need a bit more TLC), I think I'm further along than you are! lol

Ran a ton of wires from the battery to the trunk, and tapped the stock wiring harness' ACC line and ran that to the trunk as well for my power supply. I got it mostly working, but I'm waiting for xp embedded for it's EWF and minlogon :)

edit: you have a inspiron 9300? I do too!
