So far I've relocated the A/C knobs on the bottom and removed the bezel.
    how is your project going?

OK, I think I have all of the pics back up on the server. sorry for the delay.....
    updates on the project:
original motherboard failed and has been replaced with:
Biostar K8M800 Socket 754 Motherboard and AMD Sempron M 3000+ combo package!
K8M800 supports up to 2 GB DDR RAM,
    VIA S3 Graphics UniChrome Pro
    Realtek ALC655 6-Channel AC97 CODEC,
VIA VT6103 10/100 Ethernet and integrated Serial ATA controller!
    8x AGP slot,
three PCI slots and one CNR slot.
    AMD Sempron M 3000+ processor 1.8 GHz

The DSATX stopped working and was sent back to have the bios flashed. It was a known problem, which I found out about on the MP3car.com forum, I sent it back direct to mfg ...great service and fast turn around.

upon installation of the new motherboard the GPS stopped being detected by StreetDeck. I will resolve this issue and update to the latest StreetDeck asap. The cobra is currently at the shop for repairs... All cobra owners... your cobra specific oil cooler can fail... when it does... a possible scenario.... it will pump the oil out of your motor into your radiator... luckily I was once again running Mobil1... no motor damage... shop is flushing the coolant system and I hope to have it back after the holidays.
I cant complain, I have 220,000+ mile on my daily driver 96 cobra.

    Parameter Not Found

Parameter not found when entering navigation ... when trying to use navigation after the last update (not 1_1_1_0)... loop .. loop... parameter not found... have not used navi since then.. so i tried the latest update 1_1_1_0 ..everything was working perfect until.... i went to navigation... so now after doing the only resolution thats seemed to work on the forum.. the uninstall everything... im looking for my SD install disc .... frustrating for several reasons... 1) i cant find my install disc 2) i justified the 200.00 purchase of SD by telling myself i wouldnt spend hours configuring and reinstalls 3) got to step 2 .. oh wait thats a loop..

oh well... maybe i can install the demo and it will find my key....

but wait theres more... maybe a root cause
    in the last several months...
bad fuse block powering the DSATX. voltage was not high enough to enable the DSATX. i replaced the fuse block with a quality unit and my DSATX would not power up.... i had to send the DSATX back to have a known firmware update done. no problem.. fast turn around.. so did SD not shutdown gracefully while in navigation mode and i not notice and corrupt a google maps file... creating the need for a complete reinstallation?

    More Fun

    Ok,
after doing an uninstall and being unable to find my install dvd, i decided to do a system restore.. what the heck... so it goes as normal ... restore completes ... take SD out of startup ... install the latest 1_1_1_0 update... it finishes and off we go... install the pc back in the car... turn it on.. and click on the SD shortcut ... initializing navigation .... and ..... boom... SD exits with the error cant find default skin.
It was worth a try.... when i have more time i'll look for the disc and do a complete rebuild. another day.

Update, I finally took the time to do a little work on my carpc. I found my StreetDeck DVD finally and did a repair on the install. I am back in business with what seems to be a stable install minus navigation. I have GPSfinder software installed and it locates my GPS (BU353) on com 13 and starts it without any issues and finds numerous satellites as it should. But, StreetDeck cant find the GPS with a scan or when i manually set it to the same port that the GPS software finds it via the list within streetdeck. So, Nav is disabled for now. Ill search more on the forum and see what I find.

Update: Finally ordered a Alpine MRD-M1005 mono amplifier to drive the two 10" polk/Momo subs. Once this amp is installed I can utilize the crossover from the H701 instead of the supplied crossovers with the polk separates and running the Alpine MRV-F545 in 3 channel mode. I'll be running the polk's in parallel at 2ohms. So, as long as I have the voltage levels for the M1005 I'll have lots of reserve power for the subs. Quick specs on the alpine MRD-M1005

    HD radio

    another update,
    I ordered a DMHD-1000 by DEI from cartoys.com.
    http://www.cartoys.com/Default.cfm/p...1000_HD_Tuner/
I plan on using a HDR-RS232 cable from mitch over at http://rush2112.net/.
I also upgraded my Sirius setup to a SC-H1 with optical out.. again using the USB adapter for mitch's site. so, hopefully when all these items arrive i'll have time to install them.

so, now i will have optical from the carpc and again from the sirius adapter and rca's from the HD radio unit. maybe mitch will come out with a optical adapter for the DEI unit.

    CradlePoint CTR350 EVDO router

looking into a cradlepoint CTR350 EVDO router for a better solution than my blutooth setup i had with my razor phone. using the ctr350 connected via ethernet i can also be a hotspot and leave an older razor in the car for internet access. at the moment i have to connect via blutooth via a htc-ppc6800 and internet sharing.

a buddy just purchased one and loves it! he lives in a very rural area and now has evdo for internet access instead of dialup.

the cradlepoint MBR1000 is starting to ship with many new features and wireless N support, but im not ready to step up to the cost just yet. it looks very promising ....

no.. i never installed it... i had thought about using the 03 console and modifying the cup holder for the powermate... but never did. i was thinking about leaving my current console in and mounting the powermate in front of the console lid.. so your hand would just touch it if you slid it back.. dunno if it will fit just above the fog light button.
