remove these tabs
make room for the buttons on the 03'....
you end up with something like these.....

Where are you people finding spare bezels?!
I've been extremely hard-pressed...
search terms I should try? alternative spelling/naming?
hell, can you just PM me a link to one?
also, the cig lighter by the shifter.. is that cover a homebrew, stock, or can you order that? I like it alot

I have a 97GT and am waiting for my 2003 radio bezel to arrive - did you have to do anything major to make the bezel fit? I am quite comfortable doing work inside the stang (waay to many mods to list).
Cheers

well ... on the puter.... not sure just yet it depends on if i use PCI add on's or USB....i thought the MB i bought was a mini instead of a micro (biostar M7VIG 400).. heat of the moment.. .good deal type of thing on geeks.com........ there is a lot of room behind the bezel ... i thought about making a base to mount to the back metal brace and then mount the MB to that ... but not sure just yet.... vibration and such with a fixed firm mount... read my sig for the suspension mods... i think a PCI card would vibrate out over time....

just get your dremel ready ... and remove the tabs in the pics .... and if you use the stock buttons from the 03/04 you will have to clearance for them... i plan on using them for other stuff... related to the carpc... the tabs you remove secure the stock 96-98 bezel... but the original bezel will snap back in place... the main brace that holds the original in the back... it will still mount.Originally Posted by Miles

Thanks for the PM, responded, I really like that cig-lighter cover, I think it's a great idea because I that way I can rewire the cig-lighter and use it to power interior lighting (hey, only lights in the convertible are the reading lamps built into the rearview mirror!) and it's a great way to cover it back up.. in retrospect, I think my car may have had one at sometimeOriginally Posted by crabbdaddy
I say you should go for a 03-04 shift bezel, they look extremely nice, and it will compliment the new dash

How is the fit from the bottom of the radio bezel piece to the top of the shifter boot piece? are they flush, or is there a slight overhang on the radio bezel?
I guess even if there was, one wouldn't really be able to see it..
Good to know I could pop my stock bezel back on, even without those two tabs.
Keep those pics coming.

yeah there is a slight 1/4" overhang where the shifter bezel meets the left side of the radio bezel. its not noticeable .... atleast nobody has noticed it.... thats sat in the passenger seat.... the shifter bezel snaps in place except at the top left.... ill try to get some pics up in the next few days.... one reason why i was thinking of trying a 03-04 shifter bezel....Originally Posted by Miles
