Car is out of the shop, works good, needs a paint job.
updates:
instaleld DSATX
hardwired Soundblaster audigy's powersupply to the powersupply.
ditched the inverter.
discovered that i need a better way to get sound into the head unit, as now i am getting a ground loop from the modulator...(i might try running + & - from the same terminals i am pulling power for the DSATX tommorow)
next month when i install my subs, and amp, i might replace the headunit with one that has an AUX input.
Edit: Fixed spelling on DSATX

Hey thanks for the comment on my install, I came in hoping to see pics of your install too but the pics arent working
oh and I did use 10 awg and not 18 awg for the wire from my battery. my post wasnt as clear enough as it should be on my worklog sorry. thanks for that site with the info too, its definately gonna help. I did use 18 awg for the ground tho since the power supplies wires were 18 awg anyways.. should that be switched as well? basically I have 10 awg coming from the battery right to my case and then from there there's a short 18 awg wire going to the m2-atx power supply connected after the long 10 awg which I assume is ok and then the ground is 18 also which is probably no more thn a few inches long.. I think its ok the way it is(?)
WARNING RAMBLING TO FOLLLOW:
Had to remove the tint from my car to pass inspection, wow does it make a difference heat wise.
Also, i am beinging to experence heat related issues, working on a few things to try to resolve that, I've added an additionial exaust fan on the kustom kase, and later today/tommorow am, i am going to add a chipset fan to the north bridge(just has a heat sink on it right now) . Also, will be installing a 60mm fan inside the case to 'stir' the air and promote better airflow. might even switch over all cables to rounded.
new Problems with frontend:
Slicked and reloaded the computer a few days ago, and have been having problems with winamp hanging. makes the front end hang(RR) when u go to change a song. more research needed on this.
Leaving for vacation on Thursday morning, hope to have all issues resolved, as i am using the gps navigation(do have hardcopy backup)
Found some of the winamp/RR problems, turns out i had one of the usb wires rubbing up against the rail for moving the seat(passanger side by center console) replaced and re-routed the wire, using gromets to hold the wire off stuff that it is zip tied to. works fine now.
Heating problems have been fixed also, added a case fan, chipset fan(north bridge) and i glued another case fan to the bottom of the case at an angle to help stir the air around.
I'm not going to be doing to much work to this car, as i am buying an '06 Toyota Corrola in November.
What kind of car?
Great upgrade!
I'm looking at a '03-'05 Mazda 6s.....
Peace,
Rafster
