Considering he only has ONE picture of the actual car, I think we need more. Come on man, just one pic??

well, unless hes already put a body kit on it or did anything else to alter it's appearance, i'm sure it looks exactly like all the other STI's i've seen online. wasn't a fan of the new front end at first, but once i saw one in person (around last october) i fell in love.

subarus need no mods except maybe rims or amber signal lense deletes they let performance do their talking instead of body kits hehe, besides most body kits I've seen for subarus look stupid, and for my car in particular, come from japan. so... WAYY over priced for what they give ya.

This is my "phase 1" carputer, its working just fine but I dont like the fiberglass peice in the "cubby" pocket, it looks too aftermarket, my phase II involves using the factory nav. trim from the 06, and putting usb connectors in the hole where the factory nav switches went, we're still in the design phase of that, its very tight in there and rather difficult to do with such clearance.

The trunk passthrough on this car was PERFECT for the ampie carputer to rest on, if you want a good strong semi permanent mount, I recommend the rough side of industrial velcro as it works as good as screws in this trunk, it holds REALLY well, infact my carputer is mounted to a board with screws, then that board is mounted to the trunk passthrough with like 8 strips of the velcro. They're maybe 2-3" wide and run the entire bottom of the board, it will rip the velcro off board before it seperates from the carpet. heh

I ran all of my wiring under the driveshaft hump carpet and up the center console into the radio/cubby area, some people talk about interferance, and I did have some, but I do not beleive it was related to this wiring method as bypassing it did not fix it. for now I'm using a ground loop isolator as it has eliminated apparently 100% of the noise.

DarkFox1 -- that's a very clean install, I like it! Your interior also looks just a bit more luxurious than mine . Ah well, if only I could have it all... heh

sure, that'd be great, I wish mine was a lot cleaner though, it bothers me that its so messy looking, I tried as hard as I could to match the factory satin black finish of the factory cubby to the fiberglass peice, but in flash light its obviously different. thats why I'm doing phase 2.. which should be totally awesome if I say so myself lol

I'm the kinda guy that has a hard time buying luxury cars like BMWs because if it has an option.. I want it, and then the car winds up too expensive, and I wont buy a "Stripped down" model.. the subaru was good for me because the LGT limited came with every option basically. the only things I didn't get on my car were little accesssories like all weather floormats and sunroof visors, momo accessories that I didn't like.. so it worked out real well for me, however I'd pay just to RIDE in an sti lol, the dealer here has one just like your silver one and they wont let you even look at it w/o a cash deposit, you pay sticker or you dont get it.. as such I've never considered buying something like that cos I have no leverage against the price. When I looked at the mustang GT last year the salesman looked at me and said "you pay the sticker, or you dont get the car" so I didn't get the car..

I'll be glad to send ya pics and info, although I dont have many pics of it, cos I dont like that fiberglass center peice.

btw rootus if you're interested, I made a skin I call "simple skin" for use with my car. I originally had one based on the alpine skin thast very popular with the roadrunner software, but I found that most of the functionality I wasn't using and the buttons I did need were too small to use at a glance. My simple skin is exactly as it says, simple.. huge buttons huge text light colors for high daytime visibility with a black and red nighttime skin that matches. Heres a pic, if you'd like I can link to it off my server for download, I imagine most people here on a forum like this would call it amateur and boring, but it suits my needs and that was my goal in making it hehe

What brand of paint were you using? I usually get good results with SEM trim paints. They match the BMW black trims very well not sure about Subaru but they have a good selection of colors. They have a Titanium color that was a decent match for the Subaru silver trim.
