hrmm, well I have a stage 1 from cobb running the 93octane tune, we dont have 91 here.. only 87 89 and 93 so I've been running 93 anyway. The car CAN be really strong, it suprises me often how strong it can pull.. then other times its boggy and wasting gas like mad richening up the mixture and making me wonder why the dumptruck pulls away at a redlight. I get frustrated with it. I figured it was a heat saturated air induction system. I mean the turbos hot with exhaust, the engines hot from air temp and from firing, and then the intercoolers getting hot air blown over an already hot air mixture..

I am yet to take my car to the track, I've been urging my friends to go down the road to the dragstrip to get a time, but.. to no avail. I'm not sure I know how to launch anyway.

It's definitely the heat. What I'm saying is that it's not the density. You lose 10-15 horsepower from the density (assuming the turbo does not get more efficient at the lower density and makes up for it). That's hard to notice. What really costs power is the ECU pulling timing to avoid detonation because of the heat. So if you can eliminate the timing pull, you'll have better performance even when it's hot. Not quite what it's like when icy cold, but not bad.
