without reading through the whole thing at the moment, I'm curious to know how you will be securing that case to the car?
Talk about slow progress...
Got a VX9800 yesterday (a/k/a Verizon's "The V") with the unlimited VCast plan. I was looking seriously at staying with Cingular but the combination of getting a family share plan and my company's discount basically made it so my phone would cost me an incremental $20/month including the data plan, so I pulled the trigger on this. So far so good, I'm typing this from the car.
Not exactly blazing speeds...

Hopefully I'll get some time this weekend to re-install the monitor and headunit, right now they're just sitting in the cage, not really connected tight. Also have to get PhoCo going.

Industrial strength velcro, for now. The Sirius adapter is screwed into the back of the passenger-side back seat.Originally Posted by Red GTi VR6

Yes, I'm going to see if it's possible to hide it in the panels or anything. Golf clubs are about to go in the trunk for the summer too, so I really should figure out a more stable solution. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to really bust stuff up back there and see if there's any room. Might look under the back seats... anyone know what's under there?

no room under the back seats, the body of the car goes up in there as does the gas tank.
take a look at my web page for other options.
Otherwise, there might be room where the factory amplifier goes, if you removed or don't have the factory amp/changer

Crap... anyone know where I can find those metal brackets that go around the headunit (and monitor) so it snaps into the console cage? My wife stepped on the one for the radio and I don't know what it's properly called to even search for it.

The thing that goes around the aftermarket headunit and snaps into the stock console. I took out a 2 DIN VW HU and put in a Sony HU and a monitor. I busted the metal part that wrapped around the sony.
