Thanks for the suggestion. I know it's not as cool as GPS, but I had thought in the past a direction reader would be nice. I always pull directions online before a trip from home or work and it would be easy for me to just copy the directions to a text file. By naming the text file with a unique extension, like .dir (directions) the software could pull that from a USB sync. Commands could be something like: "Get Directions", when asked which directions, say the "<filename>". "Get Next Direction" or "Get Previous Direction" could be used for it to speak the next or previous line of the file. Don't know if this would be a simple alternative for now?

BTW, very nice install on the corvette!

thank you for the compliment and that is a good idea too; i agree not as convinient as gps but if you plan ahead (which u normally would do in a bike) this could be very usefull.

I just got back from vacation, sorry for the delayed response. I hadn't thought of making it into a plugin. That would be very slick though! I would like to say that this would be something that I would work on, but to give an idea of what I'd like to work on next is to improve something that I built over 2 years ago. I started with this project when a friend had thought that satellite radio could pull up anything that you would like to listen to (on-demand radio), instead of just by genre selection. So, I built a system using streaming servers to provide just that and that's why the name was chosen as Radio On-Command. It was very slow and buggy, but worked, more of a proof of concept. Long story short, I kept the name, used small portions of the original code, redesigned the framework, and moved to having music stored and retreived locally. A bit long, but I wanted to give a general idea of future work outside of the current software project.

winamp with the large user base would be very good for this app.

    two possible features

volume down button that sets the volume down to a level once it is press the volume would gradually go down to that level and the app would say "please say command' once you say the command and it is executed the app would say "are you done" if you reply yes the volume will gradually return to the original position, if you say no it will remain the same unless you give a volume return command.

volume up by percentage the if you say volume up 10% it would increase by that much same for volume down.

keep up the good work, and i hope to see this as a plugin someday.
