Nothing much, but the beginning!

Bought my Via Epia M10000 at Fry's and installed a barrier terminal strip under my dash for the power. I run an 8AWG from the battery to the barrier terminal strip, so i can hook up the computer and some lights or other 12V devices to it. See picture (not installed in car)

Also received my Dremel XPR 400 kit and bought some other tools and connectors for my installation.

Now i will order my case, ram, drive and monitor (to bad that they don't have that kind of stuff at Fry's)

i hope you know that the barrier strip will not work that well for distributing your v+, as from the look of it you have 10 or 12 gauge connected to the other terminals.

u need to get a distribution block, something like the following :

the way you are doing it, you create a potental fire hazard, as the 10-12 gauge wire cannot handle the amp draw the 6-8 gauge wire you are feeding it(which btw, you may want to run 2 AWG or smaller)

do u know, that i only use this distribution block for my carputer and maybe 2 or 4 neon lights??? i will not connect any amp on this barrier terminal strip!!! i will run an xtra power cable for my amps, nothing to do with this block, that i have already installed. how r u guys connecting your computers to the battery btw?????

am i ok, if i only connect the computer on that terminal???

if you are going to go with that 'cheap' barrier strip, make sure that your heaviest load(carputer) is on the same line as that 8 ga wire. btw, u can get a distro block for less then 20$ at most places.

I dont see any problem with it as long as it works. Specially if you run a lower voltage power supply. My cig lighter is only 12 gauge and I have run power tools through an inverter with it for a while on several occasions.
