2003 Durango install started

I am onto install number 3 now. I just picked this 03 Durango up 3 weeks ago. I need to get an 8" lcd I am going to put into the center console. For now I just started mounting what was left over from my old car. I built a raised floor and ran all the cables under it. I had to relocate the tire iron and jack tools to the compartment lid to make a little more space for my home made PC case.

I updated a few pics above. I have to run a few cables behind the trim, I plan to run everything at once.

I have been searching and came up with a few topics that make sense to me. I need to buy a startup/shutdown controller to hook up to the power supply. Is there a clear set of instructions anyone can post for me? I plan to keep searching for now.

Here are a few pics of what I started today now that I have a project housing to start with. The sides will be done in foam to follow the contour of the center console and hide the rest of the cup holders. I plan to try my first shot at fiberglass once I have everything done. My goal is to make this removable so that I can go back to the factory look if I ever need to. This whole thing will bolt in from the bottom of the console. I still have a lot of work to do!

Are you going to mold 2 cylinders and use the cup holder to retain this? I guess it would clear on the way in...

That was my original plan, but the console needs to be mounted from the front too. It is impossible to mount everything, and still get the screws in. I think I am going to have to mount it on the outside by recessing the screws so it does not look bad.

How's that USB hub? I've seen one like that the other day, and wanted to get one...what are you running of it?

Still a lot to do, and I will get my first shot at fiberglass soon.

I have only used it inside to test it and it appears to have all the power requirements I need. I am running just a 4 port hub to it that is in the center console. I have a mini laptop drive that runs off USB that is the main thing I am running on it now (I like to have my music removable if needed). I mainly got it for when I add on in the future (not sure what yet).
