    2003 G35 Coupe - McFreak's Second Ride

After having a carpc in my Jeep Cherokee for 6 months I sold the car and bought a G35 Coupe. I reverted the Jeep back to stock so I have the following parts to use for my Coupe:

    --PC Parts--
    Ampie Case SOLD
    Epia 800 SOLD
    30GB 2.5 Drive SOLD
    M1-ATX SOLD

    --Optional PC--
    IBM R40 Laptop
IBM A21P with Dock II and Nvidia MX4000 PC Card

    --Accessories--
    XM Direct
    Ritech GPS Mouse
    Sony GPRS/Edge PC Card
    External Antenna for GPRS
    Soundblaster USB with Optical in/out

    --Screens--
    Lilliput 7" TS SOLD
    PS One LCD
Infiniti G35 700TSV with housing (Ordered, should be here next week)

I think thats it for now, I wanted to get a list of everything out on the workbench before I start getting everything going. Of course, I will probably sell some things after I get what I need in there (The screens)...

I'll post pics of progress when I start.

    More Pics on page 2...

I received the DW Housing on Friday and started the install this weekend. The install is going well and I have the screen in the car. I need to put the car back together now (jeez). I ended up using the R40 laptop as the Epia just wasn't powerful enough.

I'll go take a few pics as I go.

I still need to find a PAC AAI-NIS2 device as I'm having to use a tape adapter right now. GHETO

I'm currently using a tape adapter with the cable ran inside the casing/housing for a seemless look. It seems that the AAI-NIS2 is really hard to get ahold of right now due to a bug. I'll revisit that when they are become available in March.

Heh, nice. I'm kind of partial to G35's myself.

Good job on it; the DW screen really does look professional. Now if he can just finish the 2005 model!

Yeah, this is the best car I have ever owned! I finally moved the Laptop from the backseat to the trunk and everything is running smooth. I used an old dock that I had with a soldered power button and just disabled windows from using the power button. When I turn the car on the laptop turns on, when I turn it off, it hibernates in 1 minute... Works great. Maybe one of these days I will get all the relays/resistors out of the bag and figure out how to "press" the button. Not a big deal right now though. I'll snap some pics of the computer underneath the spare tire today.

He is suposed to have all of the hardware in and testing. I'm sure it wont be too much longer...
