honda civic 2001

hiya all,
even though this is my second carputer, it's the first time i'm posting.
it's a M10k, 0l33l
256 Mb mem,
40Gb Slim Drive,
Delorme GPS with iGuidance,
150W opus,
Liliput TS,
and my ghetto stealth install haha,

Still have some fabrication to do to my new center console for the screen mold.
the first one i didn't post because it's still a prototype.,
tried to put everything behind my screen but the space is tight, and too hot for my pc, sometime it hangs, so i put it now under my driver seat, with a tupperware stealth look hahaha
currently everything works well, other than my TS which i broke the TS( new one is on the way)

I'm just starting an install on my 2001 civic as well. I found that the 2005 Civic Special Edition dash bezel has a double DIN sized radio opening that fits the Lilliput fairly well if you take the plastic housing off. I haven't checked it myself yet, but the 2005 is supposed to fit the 2001 dash perfectly. I've eyeballed it and I agree. Plus it recesses the screen about an inch back into the dash which should help with glare. Here's a link to a pic. The only difference I can see is the SE has silver-faced "control bars" on the fronts of the vents...my 2001 does not. But, it looks like you can unscrew the vents from the back side of the bezel and swap them out.

What I'm planning to do is just install the touchscreen and circuit board without the housing. Fill in the gaps with Duramix and be done with it. Should make for a much easier dash fabrication compared to hacking up the 2001 bezel.

my 2001 with the bazel taken out also reveal a recessed area, i'll take the pic of it, and i was planning to fill it out with fiberglass, but what is Duramix? where to get it? and what is it for. anyway, the first install i did was did using a aftermarket double DIN for the whole carputer. it work but it seem too hot for california whether. so i change it to just the screen, with MB down under me now. anyway, what about ur plan? and i'll try to take pic of what i'm talking about later
