1998 Toyota Camry Project Begins

I've wanted to do this for a long while. The idea came last summer when I was thinking about going to college after this summer etc. So basis for the Idea is to use my laptop as sthe computer and install a basic carputer.
The laptop is a Dell Inspirion 5100, its 2.5 years old as of now. Gets the job done very well for me, mainly because I dont play too many games. Specs:
Pentium 4 2.4ghz
768 mb Ram
60gb 7200rpm HDD

My plans so far are to go with some sort of 7" touchscreen upfront,I would much prefer to go with a motorized unit for theft prevention but funds may not allow. I do have a viper paging alarm w/ remote start(so much

) I have a sound blaster extigy which will be providing the sound to my crossover, ill post more about my system later. Also I recently purchased a BU 353 that will be providing GPS Support.
Today I took pictures and measurments of my interior. Heres the radio area

The plan is to put the computer and sound card into the wheel well, assuming there is enough room there. Im going to take the subs out to take pics and whatnot later this week.

Nice, I'm interested in seeing how this turns out.. I'm planning to get the Pandora Minipc soon to tackle a carPC project soon.. just need to replace my knock sensors first

so whilist doing some work on the audio system today i popped the spare out(for good) and took pics of the wheel well. I was shocked at how much space i have down there.

However, i had not relized that the majority of the weight for the trunk area was supported by the spare, so high on the list is to build a false floor that fits between both amp racks. Ill have to steal some wood from the theatre or something :-D

lots more work has actually taken place. thats done, all the parts aside from cables are in. electrical work shal take place tommorow.

oh and im using a motorzied screen instead. but the budget is bone dry as of now. oh dear

Everything is wired to a set of disconects so that I can remove it later on with ease.

5 fans blow air in, it spreads and exits via the 4 outer holes.

Later on I will replace my 6x9's with bigger fan to get some air into the trunk from the cabin
