2006 Scion XB (a.k.a. the BreadBox on wheels)

Good evenin' ladies and gents on the world's greatest forum......
A few years ago I'm channel surfing and come across the screensavers on techtv, and I see a story on a few nuts who've put a computer in their cars.
I thought to myself, man what a great idea! I'm a grease monkey and a computer geek, what better way to have it all at the same time?
I check the show notes and there is a link this (wonderfully time and money sucking) site.
Six months after reading and searching the forums,I built my first system in my 2004 Dakota (which my wife now drives).
I've pulled all the equipment out of the truck and it's going into the refrigerator shaped Scion.

Parts I had before this project started:
    Mtx 4320 amp
Diamond audio 5 1/4 component speakers
    8" Jl audio 8wo sub

    Parts I need to get:
    Wiring harness for hu
    antenna adapter
6 1/2 to 5 1/4 speaker adapters for the front doors

I'm going to fabricate a case for the computer and my amp to go under the driver's seat, and a sub box for under the passenger side.
The monitor is going to in the dash where the stock double din radio is now,and my hu is going into the storage pocket just under the climate controls.....this is going to be sooooo much easier than the two months I spent fabricating the dash in the dakota. It's like this car was made for an easy and stealth install.

    :Putting on flame retardant suit:
Comments, suggestions and even flames are welcome.

Seriously though,it's a good car,and for the price you can't beat it with a stick. It is built to a price point though, and it shows in the headliner, visors, and the seat foam(which is hard as a rock).
IMHO,another 50ft.lbs of torque and a drivers seat that will actually fit an american butt, and you'd have a class leader here,no matter how funky it looks.
This is my first foreign car, btw, and while there are philosophical and cutural differences that lead to different designs between the japanese and american cars,I can finally understand why some folks like an efficient "toaster" lol.

Good man. Personally, well I'm only 16 almost 17 what do I know, but foreign cars have always been my favorite. Japanese and Italian, sometimes german. I'm studying to become a mechanical/chemical/industrial/electrical engineer with an internship/job at a japanese brand auto engineer place. Going for my PhD in mechanical/electrical engineering. I've never favored an American car though. I must admit they are decent cars but it seems like all my friends that have them that are older than 3 years. Crap out on them all the time. So I came a conclusion that they don't last very long and they use a lot of gas. Dream car is an Acura/Honda NSX or of course a Ferrari (I want to work for that company later in life).
