If you want to use MapMonkey or FreeDrive then you must use the Destinator. The Destonator SDK consists of only one unlock version of "DestDll.DLL" file. You could buy it or google for it, I am sure you would find it on some Torrents site. You can buy Destinator maps for North America from Amazon.com just for "Destinator Map for North America". it costs $100 to $130.
ok thanks.. looks like i will be using Mappoint because i foudn one for a cheap price.. quick question, since i will be using mappoint.. under the GPS settings in RR, i would check the mappoint option, and where it asks for map monkey path and gps path, do i just leave those blank ?? and basically just enter the GPS Comm port (comm 7 in my situation) correct ??

    thanks..

Leave those blank, Also put 0 for GPS port. You shoud have assigned GPS port within MapPoint. What version of MapPoint are you using? The latest RR is compile with MapPoint 2006 and if you have earlier version of MP it may not work unless you run an older version of RR that was built for that version of MapPoint.

I also tapped into the same 12 V wire coming and extended it all the way to the trunk to the PC.

and a pic to help you out:
    Hi zebel,

I'm also trying to connect my pc with a sven 4 to my bmw stock amp (i think it's not an hk amp because I only have 10 speakers in the car).

For now I have no sound, and I see in your picture that you have looped the blue wire to the 12v. Do I have to do this too, to make the amp and the sven4 and the pc working ?

If you have HK amp then you would have the "Harmon Kardon" sign and wirting by the speaker next to the door handles. You will also see the subwoofer in the trunk under the rear deck.

The reason I looped the blue wire was to turn on the amp. I am not sure what kind of amp you would have on non-HK upgrades. Try the same thing I did and loop the blue and red see if you get sound. Good Luck!

Thanks for the answer. I've no Hk sign and no subwoofer but I'm sure that I've an amp

I'll try to loop the and red tomorrow (it's time to go to bed in France).

    Thanks for the help

I follow your instructions and it works I have sound in the car now.

    Thanks again.

The sound is not very loud because I don't have the soundgate and I don't know where to buy this in France.

I wanted to know if you can give me a link to download the RR skin you use (no the Idrive but the other) ?
