Thread: 1996 Accord Install Redone

Took out the rest of the dash last night and got some epoxy laid out this evening. I ended up getting the 60 minute kind so it's still sort of hardening (the backdrop of the bezel). I'll end up getting it painted probably next weekend after I do some minor sanding infractions. Make the backdrop look smoother and all the good stuff.





One question, do you guys think it would look better if I just "bondo"ed the dash trim to the actual dash around it? that way I could cut back on a lot of the plastic internal working and fit more things for the computer or whatever else I plan to put back there.

Almost done with the dash now. I just need to decide whether I want to seal the trim kit to the surrounding dash. I will be getting it painted in hopefully another week. Should I do any clear coats? It's going to be midnight black so any suggestions on anything crack away. I'm almost done with the computer just looking for a used Athlon XP 2800+ because my other burnt out.




Well that's it for now, sorry about the lighting my camera's battery was dying and the flash wasn't letting me take without it dying.

I'm thinking about ideas where to put my computer. I'll be making a small housing for it and hopefully will go in my backseat considering I'm going to cut the factory one into a custom shape so it folds down flat with the center console extending between to the two seats and putting the computer in there.

I need to find a tray-less dvd/cd drive to put somewhere in the front. Maybe just get a slit in the carbonfiber/wood to the drive.

Which power supply and shutdown controller are you going to use?
Is there a reason why you want a gig's worth of ram?

I'm going to be hooking up another monitor for the passenger. My friends and I like to play video games a lot. Such as Battlefield two and that's minimum requirements. And plus circuit city was selling 512mb for 27 bucks. You can't get much better than that.

Not sure about the power supply yet nor the shutdown controller. You can recommend some if you'd like.

1) i really like the work. it looks like your putting a lot of effort into making it look good. wtf is wit hthe wood though?

2) thank you for getting rid of the green. shooot your brother for it. or push him out of a moving car. or drag him behind a riced out civic with a HUGE wing because he probably likes those too.

The wood is just used for a back drop I'm going to be painting it soon. I didn't want to use aluminum because of support reasons. I'll be putting switch mounts in there sooner or later and didn't want some weak thin or heavy thick metal in there. haha my brother almost put a huge *** spoiler on the accord. I would have taken it off and sold it to get some more money. XD.

Last but not least. I'm a guy; reasoning for the long nails is I do fingerpicking guitar and most of my nails on my right hand and my thumb on my left hand are decently long. Most of them are short now because the sanding and them getting in the way ****ed me off

Does this drive have the connector cables that hook to a desktop or is it a notebook one that just slides in; if so is there is a way to connect the right wires to it?

Go back to the page and about half way down theres a drop down menu under available options for cd adapter, there you'll see "Slim Type CDROM/DVDROM/CDRW Adapter [MP3CAR-0083] (+$7.00)" thats what you need to hook it to a normal ide interface aka desktop interface..
