Do you have trouble viewing the screen? I have the same int. and when i had a doubledin screen, i'd always have it tilted back since it sat so low in the dash. When it's time to do mine, i'm going to mount it slightly tilted back for sure.

sometimes the screen is hard to see, it depends on the time of day and where the sun is in relation to my car. When I installed it, I thought I should tilt it up a little bit, but it proved rather difficult to install it that way, and so I ended up just puttin git in flush. If you could give it a slight tilt you would probably have a better viewing angle, but keep in mind that you will get glare no matter what, and if you ever sit in your truck with the seat all the way back (like I do on my lunch break) the titlted screen may be hard to see.

no I don't. I have to say that I don't miss the radio at all, as I was increasingly hating everything on the radio espceially all the commercials.

However, that said, if I had to do it over again, I would have installed a single din motorized screen and a single din radio, and the reason for that is twofold. Having the screen a little higher would give me a better viewing angle, and every once in a while it's good to have a radio (like to check the sports scores or traffic info etc...

The screen I use is in fact a lilliput. there's only 2 or 3 companies that make these screens, the rest are all just rebranded (like mine). Anyways, it's a fine screen. Like almost all of the screens you'll see here, it looks really good at night, is glary sometimes during the day and video looks fine on it, but certainly not teriffic or anything ( the contrast ratio is just too low IMO).

As far as your placement, Bazzy is 100% right, that's way to low to put the screen unless you tilt it at a really steep angle, but if you did that it wouldn't look factory or, well, good.

Now, the place where your radio currently is located is an ideal spot for you to put the screen in.

The most important thing to remember is something else Bazzy said. Get the screen first, then fit it into the dash, not the other way around

OK, finally got the P1900 installed and working with the Mini.

    here's pics:

sirius antenna (got sirius for xmas, it's kind of nice to have radio again)

mac installed under the seat, I used a piece of thick plastic and screwed that down. It's strong enough not to move around and easy enough to remove if I have to bring it in the house

pic 1 of the p1900 under the seat

this one gives a better idea of where the p1900 is in relation to the mac

Just like a regular truck again!

    again

changed back to roadrunner cause the new LS Void skin is too awesome (and I'm tired of having to download a new CF every like 4 weeks when my beta expires)

more (jimmy eat world is one of my gf's bands which I have in my mac in order to keep the peace when we drive places )

Now, the p1900 is worth every freaking penny, especially when paired with the mac cable, $125 is soooooo worth all the little things you get back versus an inverter. Anyone who owns a macmini, aopen (or any other carpc the p1900 is designed for) should buy one immediately if they don't already have it

It's so small it's almost unbelievable that it can output 140 watts and do all the things it does (which is does perfectly well without 1 problem, in fact it's the only part of my carpc which worked right away without any trouble whatsoever). I highly recommend it

well a really sad valentine's day for me. I went out to my truck this morning to go to work and I find everything ripped out.

Sometime last night, someone broke into my truck and took out everything. The mac, the power supply, the screen, the amp, keyboard and mouse....everything. I'm so bummed right now it's hard to even put it into words. As anyone whose done something like this knows, you really put a lot of yourself into things when you work this hard on them.

Anyway, if any of you guys are in socal and someone tries to sell you a mac and a screen with a tacoma bezel still attached to the screen, it's probably mine :~| so beat the **** out of them for me.

    Theives effin SUCK!

Sad to hear that all that work was for naught. Maybe contact your insurance company? Do you have full coverage? When my aftermarket radio got ripped off (Radio, amp, subs, cap, yellowtop battery) out of my Civic my agent had me provide him with records of installation (Just my receipts since I did it all myself) and proof of loss (I had before and after pictures). I was issued a check a few weeks later.

    Hopefully the cops find 'em.

yeah my agent said my insurance would probably over it sine it is "part of the car" I told him I had pictures of before and after, he seems to think I'll be OK. I don't have all the receipts though, although since I bought almost all the parts online, my bank's online statements may show the purchases and hopefully that would satisfy that.

At any rate, I'm ****ed. But - more importantly - I am determined to rebuild the system, but this time I'm going to make it bigger and better. Though, this time I will be sure to put a really good alarm system in my truck (I currently only have keyless entry and remote start, no alarm).

Anyway, thanks for the reply. I think I'll post some of the carnage pics just for the hell of it and them post more once I start getting replacement stuff.

Yea i had my screen stolen out of my truck a while back. I just had my ipod stolen too. Oh and last night, i noticed my nikon SLR camera was missing along with a spare lilliput i had in my closet. My parents think my brother did it since he's hard on money right now. He's known for stealing **** from us in the past. I don't know what's worse than your ****in blood stealing from you.

Yeah, i think if my brother had taken it, it would hurt a lot more since he should know that the work you put into something like this means a lot more than the value of he parts.

So, mercury insurance is pretty lame. They're only going to cover "up to $1,000 of aftermarket stereo installations." [sarcasm]Awesome, thanks guys. It's a good thing I pay extra for "comprehensive" coverage, cause otherwise I might be out a lot of money[/sarcasm].

After taking inventory of everything stolen plus what mercury won't cover, I'm out almost $1500. Oh, the best part is that the carpet will be replaced on a depreciated basis, so I'm going to have to pay for some of the cost of the replacement carpet in addition to the deductible. great.

So, anyways needless to say I'll be leaving mercury insurance after this, especially since my agent has been so useless.
