I figured out how to manually change boot screens:

    1. Uncheck "readonly" from c:\boot.ini
    2. Add this to it: /bootlogo /noguiboot
    3. And that's it

However, the boot images I create work randomly. Tissy, can you share .PSD file with us if you don't mind? Thanks!

Boot images have specific requirements, certain amount of colors and so forth.

Its not as easy as just changing a BMP file. You will have to manually edit the ntoskrnl.exe file which if i remember rightly can be found in the SYSTEM32 direcxtory of your C: drive. Before you make any alterations to this file, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BACK-UP. If you mess it up, it could compromise your Windows system.

To edit this file you will need ResHacker. Here is a link how to change your Boot Screen http://www.geocities.com/thejjoelc/XPbootcolors.html

There is also an MP3Car thread here Boot Screens

I've attached my BMP as this is in the correct colour pallete as discussed in the tutorial.

    Regards,

    Steve

How many of your Subaru guys using map-monkey and destinator?

For now I have Microsoft Streets and Trips but I kind of anxious to try Mapmonkey for several reasons:

    1. Some advanced features like fake 3d
    2. Cannot embed Streets and Trips into Road Runner.

I tried to follow FAQ how-to get Destinator SDK etc. I sent an email to the company that sells SDK, but they replied and said they discontinued to sell trials periods and that I only have to agree to some business license plan condition and then they'll talk with me on how to get it.

Is there any easier way to get it all to work?
