Some more updates, trunk is cleaner, got some wires together with a wire loom and temp.mounted carputer on rear seat armrest. Someone's going to design brackets for me a correct way. I have a rack under carputer that supports it. Rack is carpeted so it is not too hard:

I had a microphone and headset from Creative. Unfortunately, when I cut a wire to make an extension I learnt that the wire inside is some strange wire that doesn't get soldered. When you solder it there's no electricity flowing through. Whatever the reason, I decided to completely rewire microphone deleting headphone. Here's what it looks like right now:

Next step is to run a longer wire from trunk to dash area. This is going to be used for voice recognition/control. I am going to be using NaviVoice.

Any reason why you used a funky pattern plate?

Did you think of using the OEM switches that fit in those slots for the STi? Like the DCCD/foglights/wiper defroster/Intercooler spray buttons?

That is not funky it's carbon fiber , onw of the reasons I decided to do it is so to preserve original dummie buttons. I might later buy STi switches for it. I kind of like the way it looks now though.

Yeeaahh that's what i thought it was, psychadelic!

You should get one of these switches with the safety so 1. you're less likely to accidentally hit it and 2. it feels like you're firing a rocket everytime you switch it. (Shout "Red one! Fox three!" for optimal effect)

You ever think about getting the STi's DCCD control and attempting to hook it up as a stereo logarithmic poteniometer, in other words, a volume nob independant of software and head unit? It would sit on the RCA cable between your sound card and your amp.

Hey, I don't have any shots of cut bezel, but I don't think this mod is really worth it. Because it doesn't bring LCD all the way in the front. All you do is you use dremel to sand down tom and bottom edge from inside so when you go back to OEM your trimming won't be visible. I can make pics for you if you'd like.
