Holden Commodore VSII Carputer
Hi everyone. I've been reading the forums for a little while and have decided to do my own carputer.
First, the car....
Holden Commodore VS series II (1996 model)
LOL Car's pretty dirty at the moment. Raining a fair bit here in Sydney recently so it just picks up dirt each time it gets driven
This is where i plan on installing the screen. I'm going to remove the Sony Headunit, cut out the plastic buttons where the ABS/SRS label is and fabricate the screen in there and the carputer will be mounted in the glovebox.
- VIA M10000
- M2-ATX PS
- 512mb RAM
- Seagate 80Gb hard drive
- Compaq notebook DVD-ROM
- Lilliput 7" TS
- Windows XP Pro
- Probably Frodoplayer as the frontend
- Slimline notebook IDE adapter
- Diagnostic cable to connect to ECU
I think thats everything. Everything is ordered except for the Lilliput, should all be arriving in the next few days. I'm on Uni holidays for a month at the end of next week so it will be full steam ahead from then.
I've gotta say a huge thanks to everyone on the forums at Mp3car.com I've built computers before, but never anything for a car. I've been able to get all the information i need from these forums.
I'll update as the build progresses
