Holy cow! That's such an awesome idea! Truckers spend so much time on the road, I am surprised I hadn't thought of this until I saw this thread.

Awesome job on the install. LOL @ the dos commands. This install looks slick as hell man. Your brother will now be able to go coast to coast 40 times without hearing the same mp3 once! lol.

Touch screen by the driver is a must have. Size-wise, it would be great to have a huge one but i think for navigation and scrollin' through mp3s, a 7" will do. but then again, a 7" in a big rig is like a drop in a ******* bucket! lol! Im actually mounting a 19" flat panel by the rear seats in my car so my passengers will have something to watch other than my hair! lol

Cost so far: Less than a grand ;]

Holy bigrigputer Batman! Partition the trailer and install a mobile home theater. You can also use the side of the trailer to do outdoor screenings at truck stops. I can only imagine having a truck to install into.....

Unfortunately I drop and hook trailers all the time so that wont work for me but nice idea.

Being a Computer Technician out on the road I just couldnt give up my love as an Enthusiast of computers. Besides I am an Admin at a large Microsoft certified community forum on the internet and absolutely have to have internet while living out here on the road. Just didnt want to die before seeing the rest of the country, lol....

Nice, no, awesome install with lots of power!

Now for the antenna placement... it looks as if it's next to a lot of metal and cables running parallel. I bet your reception will improve a lot if you moved it back just 20-30 centimeters, at the edge of the (plastic, polyesther?) windspoiler...

Maybe even a smaller antenna that't not so obstructed and can be put a bit higher could improve things also...

Oh, and good thing you are living your dream! I got too involved in work too soon and have a company now, so it's too late for me... well, at least I got to buy me a small truck (Mitsu Canter) that I'll be installing as a mobilhome filled with fun stuff as a compensation

My brother left a week or so ago, and he'll be back in about 3 weeks. So if you wanna drive down to Alb and check it out, its worth the trip. Makes me wanna become a trucker now... But I have a girlfriend and she wouldn't stick with a trucker for a boyfriend Oh well. I'll stick to my eclipse.

Rod, you need to hit me up sometimes, like when you have an availible phone.
