Just a quick question, My wife has an 04 suncrap. How did you bypass the airbag in the stereo? Or did you pay the 150.00 for the mod kit?

That is a HUGE misconception. All it controls is OnStar (if so equipped) and the door dinger. So, if you remove your factory HU, your door won't ding when it's open. That's it. Everything else still functions perfectly fine.

A sunfire I changed the H.U. had 2 or 3 thin wires going to the computer.

I remember he wanted to change his stock h.u. cause it was broken , so he went to the scrap to buy another one , anyways , we change it and power it on , and it gives some error that the h.u. isnt on the good car or something. Also when I changed his stock h.u. for a aftermarket one , there was no ignition wire , Im guessing the computer controls all that stuff for the stock head unit.
I know that when you take out the keys on the stock head unit it still works till you open the doors.

    Crazy ponticrap.

If your air bag deploys OnStar will not be contacted. You air bag will still deloy, as it is not controlled in anyway by the radio.
