I've been playing around with photochops and a sawzall! Originally I was going to buy a body kit, but I couldn't find one that didn't look too ricy for my taste. So now I'm going to mod the OEM bumper, install Dodge sideskirts, and call it done.

The PO had cut 1 bar out of the lower grill for foglights. Well they were broken, cheap, and ugly. So I cut the grill out. I'll put some mesh in there to finish it off. The two lower side grills I can't decide what I want to do with. At first I was going to cut them out too, and install nice fog lights set in wire mesh. But I hate the look of that liscense plate stuck in the middle like that, so maybe I'll move it to the lower drivers side corner and fill in the opposite side.

Here's some ideas I've been kicking around.

    Stock, w/ cutout lower grill:

    Vertical bar:

    Horizontal bar:

    No bars:

    Any thoughts?

    stock looks ok,
Vertical bar, makes it look like a grand am.
Horizontal bar, makes it look loke a chev.
No bars, makes it look somwhat cool like the new evo.
but if your going to go through the trouble cut out the lower grills on either side and stick some iligal fog lights in there. or a NICE grill
Life Dosn't come with a reset button, if it did you might as well turn the game off.

Damn, you're dead on about that. From the beginning thought the vert bar made it look like a Pontiac. Didn't pick up on the Chev until you pointed it out.

Might just go with the no bars look. Every time I look at that stock Dodge that they put on everything now, I dislike it more.

I also want to ditch the plate, it really messes with the styling.

Nice to see a newer Neon on here. I got one and have been scrounging around for carpc parts. I got a laptop with a broken screen that makes a great candidate for the carpc itself. Been toying around with which screen I want to get though. I have been looking at the in-dash flip out touchscreens but am worried about the positioning for the HVAC controls and just general screen viewing from being that high on the dash. I wouldn't mind going with the setup that you got with the fabricated console piece but am just worried about theft. I mean I got a great alarm on my car but, that doesn't neccessarily prevent someone trying to get in until the alarm goes off. Any suggestions?

Oh sorry I haven't been on here much.

Bobthealien, I'm not too worried about theft anymore since it's not really an issue where I park. But what I had originally planned was to make a slide out cover that lifted up and slid into a slot above the DVD player. That turned out to be a huge hassle so I then planned to drill two "sockets" on either side of the DVD player, and a false front with pins to clip into it. It wouldn't be that hard and most theives would walk on by if you made it look like the stock head unit.

Luis, I originally planned to go with two 10" subs mounted in the corners like that. But now I'm only going to use a single 12" in the right corner.

Yes, my carPC is connected directly to the amp. I have a 3.5mm plug into the sound card that Y's into two RCA plugs hooked to the amp. I only use two channels because I only have 2 speakers. I don't have a head unit at all.

About the ground problem, I never really got it fixed to my liking. When it warms up I will probably try to fix it right. But right now I have a toggle switch inline with the amp power-on wire. I don't turn the amp on until Windows is loaded and then the noise is gone.

My ground is not the best but it's working for now. I ran a 6ga wire to one of the rear seatbelt bolts. When I fix it right I will have a shorter 2ga wire. I haven't found a really good place to ground yet in the trunk without a long wire run but I need to look it over better.

A lot of my noise is from the onboard sound picking up hard drive seeks and fan motors. A external USB sound card should solve that but I haven't tried yet
