Well I got myself a new engine.... a 350 crate engine, was a good price too, free! some guy my dad knows has 2 of'em and only needs 1 for his Camaro so he gave me the other. I plan on taking it, bore and stroke it into a 383 stroker. Should run pretty well then.

I got the monitor installed in the dash but still need to bondo the dash to make it look better. I have it running on an old 500mhz celly right now. Still waiting on parts for the computer i plan on actually running in the truck. I also started building a center console which i plan on keeping the computer in.

I will post some pics of this asap.

I would still like to know why 4 subs of the same size would be better than 2 different sizes. This makes little sense to me.

    TIA!

Thank god, if you do put that 383 in there then you are definitely worthy of a racing sticker.

why would it be better to go with all the same size subs? the reason i decided on different sized ones was because larger subs have more "boom" to them, like a deeper sound while a smaller sub is better for quick, snappy bass hits. So if I get 2 sizes then it will have both the deep rumble as well as the snappy sound some song have.
That is a total misconception nowadays, It may have been true in the old days of car audio but just about anything that is worth a **** is not like that. All a bigger sub allows is to move more air and create more bass at a louder volume. At least thats how I see it. I think if you want 2 15s do that, then put a nice 6.5"-8" midbass in the doors with a 4" midrange in a kickpanel and tweeter in the dash. BTW I have a Ext Cab Sonoma fully airbagged that I'm going to put a carputer in along with 2 18" subs...

Where did you get your turn signal for your truck and do you have clear tail also?

All the rear lights i got from a friend, I have no idea where he got them, sorry. "clear tail also?" do you mean the top thrid brake light? if so then yes its clear with a red chevy bowtie in the center. I have seen those in different catalogs i belive.

Just an update on the computer install, I finally got the rest of the parts for the system BUT since I want to put a 6 speed T-56 tranny in it i'll have to redesign my center console because the shifter in the 6 speed is about 5-6in further back than whats in it now. I want to put the computer in the consol and now will have to re-think a few things.

As far as the dash/monitor goes, its almost finished. The bondo work on it took me longer than I figured it would and I'm now in the final sanding stanges. Should be ready for paint by the first of the week!

I had a little set back a week or so ago.... I kinda rearended my dads RV while moving around in our driveway.... oops... Messed up the front bumper a bit which will need fixed but the plus side is that the RV doesn't have a scratch on it! lol

Yes it is in the dash, and looks pretty good i think! I have been wanting to update this with some new pics but my digital camera broke and i dont have the cash for a new one right now. I'm saving up for airbags and a wicked audio system for the truck. Maybe I can borrow a friends camera or something, i'll see what i can do.
