    Volvo v70 carputer

    Inspired by LiquidKernel i started off with my carputer. This is the result of my first day of work...

    The donor, an old sc 710


    The touchscreen, cartft mm400


    The inside


    Stereo cage


    Getting there


    Fiberglassed


    Testing

    argh. seriously bad hdd idea. if it bounced around the platters will be going crazy due to gyroscopic forces and thats even if it doenst hit the metal with a thud.

    you need to get some real strong tesnsion on those bands and then provide some damping - eg some NON-CONDUCTIVE (ie not antistatic) foam blocks postioned under the edges. do not put foam along the whole top or bottom though as it may cause overheating.

    Actually i already did that, with to pieces of 5 mm neoprene covered with duct tape
    Dont know if its non conductive, but hope so! But thanks for the advice, keep em coming!
