Man wishy washy I am. I am not going to scrap the project. I will still be selling the speakers and the dvd RW's I will be keeping the screen. Going a different route on the speakers and sub.

Purchased this 12 for my truck.. I have always wanted one but the $400.00 retail on it was crazy.. So I took a chance and purchased a used one from ebay. Yeah I know broken but actually it was not. It plays great. The cool thing is 1 cubic foot, and per my harris tech bass box and pioneer it plays flat. I know it’s not a 1500-watt sub that plays down to 10 hz. But I like SQ the hell with all the other crap. I have an old school autotek 90 MXI mean machine that will run the sub for now until I get more money. I will use an old school autotek 40 MXI mean machine to run the factory speakers. This will get me going for the time being. I am sure it will take a year or so then I will purchase the stuff I need to finish it out. It is amazing how a wife can put a damper on all the cool things in life. I once had a friend tell me that anything that bleeds for a week and doesn’t die is not right.

Sorry did not mean to PO any women.

    Tacoma Screen Mounting

Just an FYI to 2005+ tacoma owners, crutchfield makes a kit that includes a complete center dash plastic that you can modify so you don't have to cut your original factory piece. I actually am not sure which was used on this install I just wanted to point it out.

    Long time no post!

Well the project did not get scrapped. I have the screen bezel getting painted and I built a centerpiece to hold my radio. It will go where the cup holders are between the shift and console storage area. It is also getting painted.

The PC is complete and consists of Via 10000 board. PC2100 Kingston 1 gig memory stick. Seagate 2.5 100 gig 7200rpm hard drive. Windows XPhome and case. Roadrunner will be the front end and I am still working a couple of bugs out of the GPS. I am also researching minlogon to help speed up the machine on boot up. I may not try it because I have the machine booting up in 29 seconds with the help of bootvis.

I have purchased a Pioneer Premier DEH-P880PRS head unit. My PC will feed to the head unit and the head unit will send signal to three amps. Using the head units active x-over setup I will use one interfire IFH-2120 to run the tweeters, one IFH-2120 to run the mids, and one IFH 2120 to run the subs. After long research I choose the interfire IFH-2120's because of price and a couple of specs I liked. The 2120's have a dampening factor of 900, a signal to noise ratio of 112db, THD of .004. This is as good as my xtant 604 and diamond D7104 I used to have. The dampening factor alone is awesome. I listened to a couple and really liked them. The tweeters are CDT DRT26 with braxial mount that will be mounted to the CDT ES-600 mids in the front doors. I will use CDT DRT25 tweeters in the a-pillars or factory upper door locations. The DRT25's will cross over at 13000hz 14500hz? and above to raise the sound stage. The DRT25's will also run on the same amp as the DRT26's. The subs will consist of 2 Diamond Audio D3-8D4's in a correct ported box. I will be using Knukonceptz krytsal interconnects and one kinetik 600 power cell in the truck and one kinetik 1800 or 2400 under the hood. I will also be using B-quiet sound deadener. I am undecided on the wire.

I have purchased everything except the kinetik 1800 or 2400, the B-quiet sound deadener, and the wire. I have all of the equipment in hand ready to install. Now all I need is some stinking time to do it!!

I will be posting photos as I get pictures and the time.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good wrecking yard that may have Toyota parts? I am looking for some interior door panels for a 2006 tacoma. I dont want to hack up the original door panels.

Well I got started and had a nice rythm going and then the bottome fell out. Rain and still raining. I got the amp rack built and part of the box shell built. I will try to get the baffle rings cut and set then the glass work will begin. I will try to post more photos as progress goes on.
