Well, according to fedex tracking, my motherboard should be here tomorrow. At that point i hope to have everything working again quickly, and post some pictures of everything together now that i have a functional screen and bezel. Also, im thinking about extending the wires from the button/irr from the lilliput. more decisions to come tomorrow.

Alright some more updates. So i got the latest drivers for my powermate. I have to say, the increased functionality is nice, but its still unreliable as hell on startup. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Im also struggling with my linksys wireless g adapter because of a file called GTgina.dll that linksys throws into your registry while loading drivers for it. It makes you log on and off like the old style windows 2000, including a sign on screen that kills your boot time. Im working on that though, i tried to get the drivers from the maker of the chipset (ralink) but there is some sort of confusion on their site with their drivers. Im waiting on a response to a email to tech support.
Here are some pictures of the setup in the car. It was just an improvised setup to see how it felt. So far so good!!!
No complaints about functionality so far. John's digitalfx 2.0 is a great skin. I was a little worried about my viewing angle, but everything is damn near perfect when you look at the screen from my seating position.
So whats left? lets see, PSU (probably m3 atx) Sirius sc-c1 and usb controller for it, possibly a radio receiver, but i can still utilize the one on my headunit if necessary, and a pie-10 (i think its called) converter so i can use my cd changer line as an input instead of a crappy fm modulator.

So i got some more fabrication done tonight. I mounted my dvd rom in my center console today. Originally i wanted to stand it up on end inside the console like a cd case would be, but i underestimated its overall size. I couldnt find another palce that i wanted to install it that would be easy to get to and not look ridiculous. I prefer out of sight, out of mind. I took the case off the usb I/O Magic drive and trimed the bottom portion so i could attach it to the inside of my console lid. it works pretty well!!

Now there's a spot for it! I was thinking about putting my slotload vertically on the right side of the screen with the thin part down. The HVAC mount would need to be cut though. Or stuff it in the glovebox. Any place is kind of a pain for such a small thing.
More Fab done. I mounted my Powermate in what used to be my ash tray. Im somewhat pleased with the results, but, i think im going to redo the leather with a dark greay or black suede just for better asthetics and pleasing to the touch.

Wow man, this whole experience has been a rollercoaster for you. hope things work out and they're looking good as of right now. Good luck.
Yeah, its been all over the place. The worst part is, I have the drive to do all this stuff in a month or two, but my budget doesnt allow it. I Am getting married in may, and my fiance is also working on her doctorate, which means i am the only one working. This all makes things tight, so everything get stretched over a longer period of time. My goal is to have this done and installed before my wedding, may 18th.

I found a way around the Gtgina.dll problem linksys users have for logon. If you dont know about it, installation of newer wireless adapters add in a file that throws off the way you log on. Its a real pain in the arse, and you cant change it via the control panel.
What to do about it:
Go to start, run: control userpasswords2 (no space in userpassword2)
Uncheck the box that says: Users must enter a name and password to use this computer.
Click apply. When the next screen pops up, leave the fields empty for password.
Click ok.
Reboot.
At this point you should see the login screen come up, then go right by.
