Thread: 2000 Ford Focus

Did as StevieG and went to my local Ford dealer and got myself a brand new facia, since one of my goals is to easily revert back to a standard focus in case I one day want to sell it. I also got my Lilliput and went right ahead and took it apart. I want to do everything on the project myself and did the following.

• Dremeled out the front frame on the frontpanel of the lilliput.
• Sanded the space for the ford HU slightly for the lilliput frame to fit (just a few mm is needed)
• Filled in all unnessary holes in the facia
• Primed
• Sanded
• Primed
• Sanded
• X 15
• Painted
• Sanded

Almost finished with the facia. Test fitted the screen and backpanel for the Lilliput and everything seems to fit quite nicely. Posting some pictures.

Ordered one AMP3 kit from www.41hz.com and saw emidiately that SMD components are VERY SMALL.

I had to do some practice before I started on the amp, so I ordered some velleman kits.

The mounting and soldering are time consuming work at I quess I spent 5-6 hours getting it finished.

I've ordered some components to complete the testing, but atleast the first test. (Power it up and check for 0,20mA draw succeded)

I just can't belive the size off the AMP. Should fit easily behind the facia og behind the glovebox. Just need to test this further before I order my second one for the complete 4 channel output. (Each AMP3 is 2X25W output).

Tested the AMP, but to my dissapointment it seems like I screwed up the soldering.
Still got some hope there might just be a bad connection somewhere, but either way I need two off them to make it 4-channels, so I will be ordering another one and hopefully get that one right.

If anybody got some other suggestions about tiny/small amps with min 25W output I'm listening.
