great idea... i'll probably do that. it looked cool in the beginning but it got old after few weeks, it flashes when on and its a bit annoying.

as far as aux in, there are 3 products i'm aware of PAC AAI-HON, PIE HON03/PC and Soundgate SNHOND3. i'm shopping for one right now... aux port is right in the bottom of HU - very easy to reach.

what did u use to seal up the daps?

hows the door function? does the screens frame get in the way?

lastly, can you take side shots with and without the door on? thanks

epoxy to hold it together, bondo to fill. The door closes and opens with no problems. Keeping the door functioning was my goal and is the trickiest part of the fabrication. if the screen was just a few mm wider or thicker it wouldn't fit and i would have to create my own casing for it.

I will post pictures next time i take the thing out, there is a pic with no door though... as you can see i had to cut off a lot of plastic, which makes the structure very unstable. once you put the bin back in the car, side-rails hold everything together. what i ended up doing is super-gluing bezel inside the car to make sure everything will fit, then reinforce it with epoxy.

i'm trying to figure out how to open/close the door automatically as i turn the pc on/off...

I ordered my xenarc last night but as soon as it arrives i will test fit it and post pics.
I measured it and it should be perfect.
Also i ordered the Carp2PC adapter last night to use my controls for winamp.
    I cant wait.

Sweet, you're right on track with what i was thinking about doing in getting the door to slide up and down when the pc turns on and off.... just haven't gotten around to ordering my screen and any phidgetts or something to raise and lower the door.

as for the question about the room above the screen when the door is up...you still have some room above the box section that it will clear.
I actually ordered the compartment off of ebay. I haven't touched it yet, and have looked at the mechanism that opens/shuts it. If needed I can take some measurements and pictures. I'm not taking the door off just yet until I know what I'm going to do with it. But I can get some pics for anyone that needs it.
Also, I ordered the repair manual that the mechanics get...so I do have other diagrams of things... electrical and expected reads of the signals... ect.

keep us updated on the progress! I'd love to know how the xenarc fits into it. I think when i initial measured, it was too big and would need to be cut exactly the way alertik did it (maybe look a lil less like he chewed it apart!) lol
I think i'd rather have the xenarc for its capabilities of changing screens when autodetecting a signal (reverse camera)

I am working on the same thing, but getting my partts together so far, almost done. I like the idea of having the cover flip open on power on. What would i need to make that happend?
Also has anyone done any research if the Accord has the IBUS or CanBus interface that can be connected to the pc?
