It doesn't look like it will fit. I don't care its going in. I used Plado to hold the screen frame in place before I used the Perm Putty.

The frame is now in place. Time to build up the Putty Layers.

After some more final putty layers I should be ready for sanding and painting.
I have a question for anyone looking at the exposed frame and the button area.
Should I just leave it? or put a thin layer of putty on before I start sanding?

How are you going to access the screws that hold the back part of the screen in place? it looks like they are all blocked by the new bezel.
I probably would have put the dvd drive somewhere else, and made the screen fit as low in the bezel as possible.

I was thinking of the screws being blocked during the putty process. I have access to the two screws at the bottom and two at the side. If that doesn't hold it properly ill use some tape or find something else. I was thinking of not having the dvd drive at all in the dash to make the screen look more flush. It just seemed nice to have it there as a option for dvd's. I have already installed it to see if it inter feared with the view of my factory LCD on the top. It all seemed to fit.

if you've got most of the screws on the bezel you'll be just fine. I'd have put the DVD drive elsewhere to make it a little nicer, but then it's not in a convenient place.
I've got the space to put the screen, DVD drive, and my pioneer deck (and the vents, hazard/defrost switch, window switches, and HVAC controls.) in my car. But for me it's a matter of finding a replacement bezel, there's a couple on ebay, but I'm not sure I want to pay $80 for a replacement dash bezel.

That was one of the reasons I was glad I could put something in my stereo area. My stereo Metra kit cost me $15 bucks at a local car audio shop. I thought of putting the screen on the top of my dash. This would make it look like the Mazda 3 factory GPS, but for a touchscreen and driving its a little to far out of reach. Plus to get a replacement piece for modifing would have cost me aprrox $150 bucks from the dealer. Thats too much if I couldn't get it to look right. I know theres people selling the top piece of my dash as well but that would have been even more $$. The sanding of my bezal is going to take longer than I thought. I didn't realize how rock hard this Epoxy Putty I used can get.
