    But then I got new paint and painted it over again. It's hard to tell the difference just from the pics, but trust me, it looks a lot better than with the glossy paint.

    Here's a side by side comparison with my modified bezel(left) and the factory one(right). The bumper paint is not as smooth as the orginal, but other than that looks just as good.

    Now comes time to reassemble the monitor. It's been so long since I took it apart, I was afraid I'd forget where everything goes.

    But everything was straight forward. It did take a while to clean out the button holes so the buttons wouldn't stick.

    The next 2 pics show how much space the monitor takes up on the bezel. It's no wonder why someone designed a bolt-in kit for the wrx. Any other screen would take quite a bit of work to get to fit.

    Speaking of fitting, besides cutting that plastic bar in the dash, I also had to clean off any bondo and epoxy from the bottom of the screen, just to get it to fit.
