So, The convertible RX-7 is gone, as is my fun little Impreza. The autocrossing may be over for now, but I now have a great little baby girl! She is the best, but I still have needs. Needs to do something with this car.
I am not a car audio guy, In the past I bought what works well enough. In this carpc install I am looking for a decent install and to add funtionallity, but learn something new.
I will post some pics of what I have so far when I find my card reader.

I took out the cubby area tried a fit. It looks like the space is too tight so I am going to have to shave back the plastic parts to get a fit. It looks like it is tight enough that I wont be able to put mounting tabs on the bezel I may just run two bars in back to mount the monitor to.
I shaved the sides back using a dremel. The stock cubby fits back in fine in case I need to take it out.
Here is the monitor fitting now.
Right now, I am waiting for the epoxy to dry to the front bezel. I cant wait. Got a trip coming up in a few weeks and want to have it pretty operational.
So, tonight I worked on bezel installation. The epoxy was dry and so I thought we'd see how to make it fit. The bezel requires 2 posts to be stuck into something, so I took a bar that came with this accessory bezel (this one for the hybrid installation (although my car is not a hybrid) and cut two ends of it off and bent it, and then screwed it into the sides of the plastic. I placed the holes far enough back that I could take it all out and no one would know when I went to sell it.
Anyway here are some pictures of that.
A couple pictures of the bar.
And after I cut one end off, getting ready to do the other.
