alright.. so back to your Power question.. I am pretty sure you could ditch the power supply that came with your desktop and just purchase the OPUS 350W DC-DC PSU, and that would be fine.. I am sure if you were to take apart the desktop you would see that the PSU is attached to the MOBO via a ATX 20pin cable ?? but for your best bet, and to be on the safe side go with the OPUS 350W PSU.

btw, i like that I-Drive close you got there..

here's a picture of it. that connection wont fit. Its a smaller plug. Would a start up/shut down controller work from the battery to the pc or do I need a ac to dc controller? Im a bit confused on which item to buy.

Eh? what 350w PSU from OPUS, last I knew the most they had was a 250W?

uh oh. Compaq, that'll be a non standard ATX PSU. I have some similar to those that I have almost converted. I have converted the plugs only to find that the power good signal is reversed. Haven't got around to sorting that yet although I have got the components. Do a search of the forum for Compaq and PSU

sorry.. i meant 320W.. ya, i have the 250W right now, but went to OPUS when i purchased my 250W and they showed me there 320W.. looks the same as 250W but i guess just a few differ. things here and there .. (to complicated for me.. lol)

as En4cer has stated, do a search on the forum.. I forgot about the compaq power setup.. OUCH!! i never really dealt with one so i have yet to learn how to work around that setup ?? hmm.. i'll see if i can find some more information as well, and if i do i'll report back..

EDIT :: What kind of Compaq model is that you own ?? i found a thread over on google, but it seems like these guys that did the conversion are converting from the ATX 20pin to AT 24pin .. from the looks of the pic you took, looks like you have less than 20pin ?? lol..
