Hmmmm -- that does make a difference, so I googled "Polyphenylene Oxide welding". The Handbook of Adhesives and Sealants says "PPOs are usually joined by solvent cementing or thermal welding", and names some solvents, but says the joints must mate almost perfectly to be strong. The Handbook of Plastics Technologies says that "Unmodified PPO can be welded at hot plate temperatures of 343°C", where modified PPO welds at lower temperatures. But I believe hot plate welding is very different from the sort we'd do with the KC Welder Pro.

It might be good to send the guys at Urethane Supply an email and see what they recommend.

God I love the Ford Tornado..... It sucks that America doesn't get the cars the rest of the world does, and when we do get a car from there (the Ford Focus name), we get a uglified version (2008 American Ford Focus)...... Thankfully there bringing the euro version to America.... Anyways I never knew what car you drove mrbean, if I had I would have left a comment a long time ago.

I know that the MAC Mini is small, but there isn't too much for it when it comes to CarPC apps. People that boot Windows are basically using a middle man, so of course its going to take longer, and still stuff isn't guaranteed to work. I'm glad you went with a Windows based install. Your setup is very impressive, and that engine work, wooooffff. What I would do to have something done like that to my truck. In fact, you have a P/M.

@ HiJackZX1: Hehe - I tell you, I just take it for a spin every so often, of course taking a change of clean undies with in the cubbyhole -> for the Wife -> that's why the OC had to be relocated, to make space for those......

But yeah, pity you guys can't get it therem it sure is a nice performer for the money you spend.....

ps: Anyway, couple years ago you guys had the Ford SVT pick-up - and that was quick in itself? Surely you could get one of those and blow it out of proportion with a pair of nice Turbonetics T60's?

Yeah, but a full-size pickup isn't quite what I'd call nimble. I've hoped for a decade that Ford would update the Ranger pickup, but it's still clunking along on 1970's technology. Imagine an updated Ranchero with contemporary suspension, a range of engines (including a Diesel option, please, and maybe a fierce turboDiesel). It could offer handling, hauling and economy, or handling, hauling and go-fast, all in one vehicle.

Actually, never mind updating the Ranchero; let 'em just bring the Tornado here.

The thing I like about pickups is that get to I sit up higher. I think I could sacrifice that if I could drive a Tornado. I bet it's fun right out of the box . . . and all that performance and appearance work just makes it way more fun. Add carPC toys, and we're approaching Nirvana.

Yep, I get where you're coming from - in effect, the Tornado is an update of the Ranchero, I remembered in the early 70's in South-Africa we had the Ford Ranchero/Chev El Camino pick-ups, and then the Ozzies started developing the pick-up/UTE Down Under, and I guess in early 2003 they released the first Ford XR6 Turbo car and UTE - of course FPV added some spcining, and came up with the Tornado(UTE)/Typhoon(sedan) series.

But, out of the box they go like crazy allready, with these cars very capable of high 12's down the quarter in 6-spd auto form.

Tweak then a little, and they will venture down into mid-to-low 11's with decent MT street radials if you're a semi-decent driver, and you get a decent launch.

I don't mind drags that much nowadays, done a lot when I was early to late 20's, so playing with carpc toyz, and taking it for a zirts on a private stretch of bitumen is much more fun

I feel sad you guys over in the US cannot get to experience these things, they are fenomenal for the money - of course, if you take a V8, and dump decent artificial aspiration on, it will beat the inline 4.0 Liter 6, but, not many naturally aspirated 8's will give this thing a go.

Turbopower is good Sheer bliss.......

I’m running I mini-itx motherboard with pciE ARCADE vga card to the ICC of my ford
Territory.
I’m using a M2-ATX (160w) the problem I got is the screen is flickering how I can fix this

Soz for the late reply -> wrt your question, I've seen this when I used the Arcade VGA (and another converter too)..... I have a feeling there's a ground mismatch between your PC and vehicle earth.

It may be that the M2-ATX use isolated circuits in the PSU - (only conjecture on my part), or something such, and that there's a potential difference between your grounds.

Maybe worthwhile to play with this. If I find something, I will notify you.

Anyway guys, you know I'm using the Commell LS-372 as the carputer, this is my final choice - had it for a while now, and it's running beautifully fast - very small footprint being a 3.5" SBC too, and extremely powerful.

Those of you that have this board knows it comes without a rear I/O port-plate, so I designed something in Autocad.

Here's a pic, if anyone wants the Acad drawings, let me know - I have made is so that you can make a template from the 2d view, and just simply drill/cut it out of the rear of your case, or, for the adventurers, there's an extruded 3d-view, which you could dump into a CNC mill, and it will create a very nice unit from 5mm thick aluminium.
