The case and dash piece are both very nicely done. Kudos!

I'm curious how you got the letters cut into the case. Did you just order the piece custom cut, do you know somebody with a machine to do precision cuts, or are you just absolutely wicked with a dremel? lol

do you do custom work with the laser its very nice looking
I get to use the laser whenever I want pretty much because it belongs to my old highschool teacher and he is really nice about it, but it is not mine... yet! I help him out with his computers, and in return he lets me use the laser. I appreciate it. I hope to buy one in the semi-near future. When my teacher bought it they were around $25K, and now they are only $7K or so for the same model. I am waiting for the under $3K version. And I know they have those Versa-laser desktop cutters, but those are CRAP!!! Low wattage, and small bed. If I buy a laser, I am doing it the right way!

Laser cutter. You feed it a vector drawing like AutoCAD or CorelDraw or something, and it starts cutting!

Very impressive, the case looks great.

screen looks great also, but why did you not recess the screen back a little?

I had no need to recess it. The screen is very bright even in direct sunlight. I have no idea what most people complain about, but I can see what I am doing on my screen on sunny day. Sure it looks washed out a bit, but I can see clearly where I need to push to make it do whatever.

That and it is a lot easier to not make it recessed. The way the dash is, it is perfect for the screen in the case when positioned like that, but it is resting on the other pieces of the dash behind it. So if I were to recess it, we would have needed to build up a back plate and everything. And then I wouldnt be able to see the left side of the screen from the driver's seat!

And another reason is most of my driving is during the evening to early morning hours (4pm to 3am) so the sun is no problem!

I meant recessing it so that it looked more stock, not because of the sun. Even if it wasn't recessed it would look more stock if it was even with the dash like with your first version. But none the less, it still came out great.

Oh, yeah we went for aftermarket-stock if that makes sense. We pruposely made it stand out like that to look like it wasn't there when it was purchased, but that is should be there.
