So What are you going to program in. Looks like ICE supports a good range or programming languages. Alot of developers on here use VB. There are a few mp3car'rs that are working on some C type front ends. In the hope that they will be faster front ends.

I myself love ubuntu. It would cool to get a repository for the front end so all we had to do is type apt-get install frontend

Look at the linux things already done, i think this could give you the answer that you are on the right way, i'm pretty sure that with a little bit of work you will get something unbreakable, virii, ads, spywares, trojans proof and really usable at any time. Everyday have the feeling that your machine is not wasting it's power with garbage and bs like with another o.s.

Xvkbd could be usable as keyboard so it would avoid using this kind of hardware device
