    1998 4runner MAC.ed Ride

Basically I wanted an in car system with tons of features and room to expand. I hated how aftermarket Navs had incomplete maps, were slow, and charged $250 for updates.

My friend spent $2800 on one such system (without an amp or speakers)

So I'm taking the plunge into new territory....

    I have:
    Mac Mini Intel
    Gsat BT 359 with RouteBuddy
    Griffin Powermate
    Xenar 700TSV
    AMP (touchscreen interface)
    Mac Power Cable Kit

CNX-P1900 DUAL OUTPUT 140 WATT INTELLIGENT DC-DC POWER REGULATOR
    http://www.carnetix.com/CNXP1900.htm

    Buying:
    Profile AP740 Amp
    http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zJgo6Sg...i=489AP740#Tab

    Hoping:
That Griffin's USB HD Radio comes out soon

    Building:
This weekend, custom cargo box/sub box into the driver's side of the 4runner's cargo area. Going to house the sub, amps, and 4x4 gear

That's pretty much it... If anyone sees any glaring omissions on what I'll need, I'd appreciate the advice. And if anyone happens to have a runner, that'd be pretty sweet too

    Thanks
    Alex

Diagram of the cargo box I'm building.
Storage is more important to me than a big sub. I have a lot of gear to stow when I'm offroading, and I'm tired of having it bounce around.

It will sit in the driver's side of the cargo area, wrapping around the wheel well and tucking behind the passenger seats.

As it stands, I'm looking at about .5 - .65 of cu feet for the 8 in sub I plan on tucking in right behind the seats. Depends on how tight I can get it all to fit.
And I'm hoping to use Ultra Light MDF 1/2" for most of it, maybe 3/4 MDF for the large panel (one facing into the cargo area).
