Is it possible to drill small holes in the LCD panel outside of the active area for mounting?

Ideally I would like to screw the panel to the existing radio cage and velcro a custom bezel to the LCD panel.

What do you think about that?

No you cannot drill holes in the LCD panel. The monitor has foam inserts between the LCD panel and the main board mounting plate. The main board mounts to a plate and is attached to the monitor in three places. There are also 2 speaker connections and one 12 pin connector that goes to the button board on the front bezel.

The monitor works without the speakers or the button board attached. You will not have any control of the monitor functions however.
