windows xp media center edition

Very very very much interested in testing it out on my own hardware. So the question will be will it work on other hardware than the specs say!

Here's the system requirements for Media Center. They have links on there for places where you can buy machines with them preloaded. Nothing said about buying it out right.

Actually this is the quote:

Notice it states "enhance" not requires.

from what i read , al you need is a pc that can run XP .
Is media center an OS or an APP added to winXP ?

yeah but right before that it says

Because of the special hardware features of a Media Center PC, the Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system cannot be licensed separately for installation on any computer.
