Are you serious about the DivX support? That sucks. You might try media portal. http://mediaportal.sourceforge.net/ or meedio http://www.meedio.com/ or some other.Originally Posted by kirbycope
So I have MCE 2005 and its great. Bad thing is no DivX support. I can add a icon to open up the Divx playa but that doesnt have a cataloging feature like MCE does for mp3s and dvds.
Question: is there a know hack/plug-in for cataloging my divX files?
or
is their a similar front-end that i could use just for divXor .iso?

I have MCE 2005 and have hundreds of Divx movies. Might want to try downloading the codec again from divx.com.

Carputer yanked from the Jeep and Denali and waiting to be installed in the Ford.
try the divx codec and the AC3 codec. If Media Player supports it then MCE2005 does.
Thats all I use it for Divx, and DVD's.
I have MCE 2005 and it'll even play real and quicktime if you set it up right.

Thats not necessarily true, media player will play a number of badly written codecs that MCE does not. Since mce renders directly to a directx texture, the codec must be able to output a stream in a particular pixel format that MCE can convert to a directx texture in. I have run into this DivX problem myself before depending on the exact version / variant of the codec installed even though the files played fine in media player.Originally Posted by Defiler

How the hell did you get it to play Quicktime files?Originally Posted by Nobias
Installed QuickTime and Real Alternative then added the following registry entries to get extra file types:
